I am sure that most of us have been closely following the news about the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck off the Haitian Coast at about 4:53pm local time on Tuesday, January 12th 2010. This 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused thousands of buildings to collapse in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince. Reports suggest that number of deaths could be in the thousands and over 1 million displaced considering the densely populated epicenter of the earthquake. It is the strongest earthquake to hit the poor Caribbean nation in more than 200 years.

The devastation caused by this earthquake is simply unimaginable. Several organizations have initiated an emergency protocol to respond to this catastrophic earthquake.

I wanted to share with you information of these organizations that are immediately responding to this situation by providing among others food and shelter for all people in Haiti.

If you are interested in supporting their efforts, and make a contribution to the disaster relief efforts; please contact them through their websites and/or Text “lines”.
